Dorota Meinhardt studied at The Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in the years 1981-1988. During that period she studied in the workshops of my excellent colleagues, remarkable painters – professor Jan Szancenbach and professor Włodzimierz Buczek and mine. She prepared her graduation work in my workshop and I promoted this work. I wish to characterise the artistic output of my student. The number of the workshops where she realised her studies proves the abundance and the variety of artistic sources she was able to derive from, what truly influenced her basic artistic awareness. I need to mark at this point, that our Academy workshops have always been liberal and open to what has been going on in the world’s art. Therefore, one can observe a great relation between the works of our students and most current world’s artistic trends. The Academy professors and tutors, attempt only to influence on deeper artistic and philosophical (humanistic) perception of openess to the world’s artistic trends. We try to maintain an intellectual relation with each stage of development of “modern art”, however we feel that this relation has been being distracted.
Opinion of Professor Jerzy Nowosielski
Dorota Meinhardt studied painting at The Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and currently graduated; her graduation work was an excellent example of zealous painting what was fully appreciated by the professors. During her studies in my workshop, she proved to be hard working, passionate and engaged in the issues of art. I express my complete support for her going to The College of Fine Arts in West Berlin to develop her talent and knowledge of art. I am convinced that she will gain respect and will surely achieve artistic success.
